Underrepresented in Medicine Scholarship |
Available through the North Florida Emergency Medicine Clerkship, HCA/GME Consortium Gainesville
Here at the North Florida Emergency Medicine Residency Program, we believe that having a diverse group of medical professionals who reflect our community leads to better patient outcomes. We understand that it is our responsibility to join the effort to combat the institutional racism within our society that has led to healthcare disparities for so many of our patients. To support this mission, we offer a scholarship to underrepresented students to help offset the cost of rotating away from home. Examples of underrepresented populations include, but are certainly not limited to, historically underrepresented ethnicities in medicine, those who may be socioeconomically or educationally disadvantaged, and any others whose backgrounds and/or experiences would bring diversity to our program. The scholarship is available for both our Emergency Medicine Clerkship and Ultrasound rotations.
